Launde Abbey Retreats
Beginners Retreat **FULLY BOOKED**
The aim of this semi-silent retreat weekend is to help you enter the world of silent retreats gently and with plenty of support. There will be guidance on how to use the time; periods on your own and with the other retreatants, and the opportunity to share your experience with others if you wish to do so. Led by the Launde Abbey Community.
Heart of my own Heart
This short, silent retreat will touch on some of the themes of the book: Love of the Heart, Conversion of Life, the Foolishness of God, Virtues and Vices etc. There will be opportunities to attend two Addresses each day, shared contemplative prayer each evening and time to speak with the retreat leader, John-Francis Friendship.
Beginners Individually Guided Retreat
Sometimes it is good to take time out in Lent to be with God and reflect on where you are, where you have come from and where God might be leading you. This is a weekend individually guided retreat offering time and space to notice and pay attention to God and the work of God in your life. The retreat has been designed specifically with those new to silent retreats in mind, but will also be accessible to those for whom silent retreats are already a part of life.

The Sound of Musings
Spend an encouraging and inspiring retreat with Maria the ‘flibbertigibbet’ nun turned governess as she discovers the life she was born to live. Prompted by the songs, characters and stories from 'The Sound of Music', Bryony Wood will lead us on our own journey of faith – it will be biblical, authentic and quite a lot of fun. We will probably even make our own sounds of music too!
Contemplative and Charismatic: A Rooted and Grounded Retreat
In this Rooted and Grounded retreat we’ll be taking time to explore these two streams in depth. As always, we'll tap into the rich wisdom and experience of a wide variety of thinkers and practitioners, past and present. We’ll take time to find rest and refreshment in prayer, worship, silence and rest. And we’ll explore a wide range of spiritual practices you can take away with you to deepen your life of faith. Led by Launde Abbey and Renovaré.
Thriving In Retirement
This retreat is tailored for those approaching retirement, as well as those already retired. We will be using short talks, prayers, time for reflection, music, poetry and prose, and simple acts of worship. There will be the opportunity for a short individual conversation with one of the leaders if you wish.
