September Quiet Day: Julian’s Hazelnut
7th September, 10:00 am to 4:00 pm£33
Julian of Norwich was a medieval contemplative who was given a series of remarkable visions of God’s love, grace, joy, compassion, and care for the whole of creation. In this Quiet Day, led by Chris Webb, we’ll reflect on a couple of these visions – the vision of the hazelnut and the vision of Mary – and explore whether Julian’s revelations might still speak us today as lovers of God.
Chris Webb is Deputy Warden of Launde Abbey and Spirituality Adviser to the Diocese of Leicester. He has ministered in a wide variety of contexts: as president of a spiritual formation ministry in the USA, as parish priest in Welsh farming communities and steelworking towns, and even in a church for the homeless. He is the author of two books: The Fire of the Word (2011) and God-Soaked Life (2017).
