October Quiet Day: The Still, Small Voice
5th October 2020, 10:00 am to 4:00 pm
£33What is God saying to you today?
Huddled in a cave on Mount Sinai, in the wake of a ferocious storm, Elijah famously heard God speak in a “still, small voice”. This strange and wonderful experience transformed his understanding of God and turned his life inside out.
During this Quiet Day we’ll explore Elijah’s ideas about God – and our own – and how they are sometimes lovingly challenged and changed by God. And we’ll have an opportunity to listen for that gentle divine whisper speaking into our own lives.
The Quiet Day will be led by Chris Webb, Deputy Warden of Launde Abbey and Diocesan Spirituality Adviser. Chris is an Anglican priest who has ministered as president of a spiritual formation ministry in the USA, as a parish priest in Wales and in a church for the homeless. He is the author of two books: The Fire of the Word (2011) and God-Soaked Life (2017).
(NB This Quiet Day was originally to be hosted by the Revd Andrew Hall, who is now unable to be with us. We hope to offer his original quiet day, reflecting on presenting our lives to God, at a later date.)
We want all our guests to be safe and secure when visiting Launde during the current public health situation. For details of our comprehensive Keeping You Safe programme click here.
