Do you find prayer & stillness are filled with distractions and difficulty in focusing? In this retreat, we explore the foundations of mindfulness, as taught in secular mindfulness courses, and we discover how these can support our prayer life, attentiveness and stillness. We will be focusing on Scripture and its wisdom about prayer and stillness and exploring the connections with mindfulness practices. And maybe we’ll begin to discover or rediscover “that a deep and God-given stillness and peace was available to us even in the midst of the brokenness and chaos of our lives.” (Mark Williams, Emeritus Professor of Clinical Psychology, Honorary Canon of Christ Church Cathedral, Oxford).
This Mindfulness for Life retreat is suitable for people who are new to mindfulness, anyone who has tried mindfulness before, either a course or an app, or perhaps read a book and wants the structure of a retreat led by an experienced teacher.
