Making Church Conflict Creative
17th May 2021, 9:30 am to 18th May 2021, 4:00 pm
£170This event was originally scheduled for 10-11 May; we’ve moved it to 17-18 May to coincide with our reopening – this will now be our first in-person event since the second UK lockdown began last autumn! 🙂
Conflict is normal in any community, including the church. The issue is not whether conflict should be happening but how to respond to the conflicts that inevitably arise. Developed by Bridge Builders Ministries, this two day course will equip you with tools and strategies to learn and grow through conflict and bring transformation rather than division.
David Newman was appointed Warden of Launde Abbey in March 2017 and has led many retreats and courses at Launde before and especially since then. Before coming to Launde, David was the Rector of Emmanuel Church, Loughborough and then Archdeacon of Loughborough. He retains a strong desire to see the church in the diocese flourish and to make the energy of conflict constructive to that end.
Louise Corke is Team Vicar in the benefice of Kegworth, Hathern, Long Whatton, Diseworth, Belton and Osgathorpe and a School for Ministry Tutor in the Diocese of Leicester. Louise uses her training as a teacher and priest to equip and enable others to flourish in the roles to which God is calling them. She has worked in Leicester diocese since 2001 and enjoys the way each of her roles, rural parish and diocesan, informs her ministry.
We want all our guests to be safe and secure when visiting Launde during the current public health situation. For details of our comprehensive Keeping You Safe programme click here.
Early bird price: £150 if booked before 28th February 2021.
