January Saturday Quiet Day: Pausing to Breathe
18th January 2025, 10:00 am to 4:00 pm
£44Beginning a New Year is often a good time to pause and reflect with God. One way of doing this is by using an approach to prayer crystallised by Ignatius of Loyola, known as the Examen. This way of praying, well established in the Jesuit tradition and more widely, is now being used by people of all ages and backgrounds using apps like Pray as you go and Lectio 365. In this quiet day, designed for those new to quiet days as well as those who have been on many, we will explore different ways of praying with the Examen. As well as more traditional approaches we will also offer suggestions and opportunities for more creative multi-sensory approaches to prayer. If this is for you, and you think you might like to experiment with a more creative way of praying, please bring a small bowl with you. Rice and beads and pebbles and crosses will be provided.
This quiet day will be led by Rhona Knight:
Rhona is a member of the College of Chaplains at Launde Abbey. She is a theological educator, pastoral supervisor and spiritual director and is the author of a number of books and resources on discipleship and spirituality.
Quiet Day price: £44 includes lunch and coffee and tea throughout the day.
