10th May, 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm£15
The Harborough Singers dates back to1978 and was formed originally at Robert Smyth School, but for many years’ activities have stretched well beyond Market Harborough to locations across Europe the USA and Canada.
The choir performs a wide range of music embracing the rich tradition of European Church music as well as jazz and contemporary arrangements. Soloists are drawn from the choir but on occasions, singers with world-wide reputations are engaged. These have included Dame Felicity Lott, Mary Seers and Susan Bullock. The choir is delighted to be able to sing in the beautiful chapel and surroundings of Launde Abbey and will perform a mixed choral concert of sacred, spirituals, folk and popular songs to lift the soul which will include works by Eric Whitacre, Bob Chilcott, Duke Ellington, Gustav Holst, John Rutter, and Stephen Paulus. An Afternoon to please all.
