Bishops’ Retreat Day
9th September, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
A resource day for clergy in the Diocese of Leicester
Jesus’ rhythm of life included time with the crowds and time when he withdrew. Time and again, we see Jesus in effect saying ‘no’ to people in order to spend time in prayer.
For those in ministry, our rhythm of life must also include prayer – both personal and corporate – prayer which sustains us and stretches us and keeps us rooted in the love of God.
In order to encourage the clergy of Leicester Diocese in this pattern, Bishops Martyn and Guli have set aside a series of days for retreat at Launde Abbey. All clergy in the diocese are invited to join them on at least one of these days each year.
The days (9am to 5pm) will be spent in silence with the opportunity for individuals to enjoy the space and quiet of Launde, punctuated by Morning Prayer at 9am, lunch and a closing Eucharist at 4pm.
Booking for these Retreat Days is essential as spaces are limited. To reserve your place please contact Ellie Cox, the Bishop of Leicester’s Executive Assistant directly on 0116 270 8985 or via email:
We want all our guests to be safe and secure when visiting Launde during the current public health situation. For details of our comprehensive Keeping You Safe programme click here.
