(Re)discovering the love of God

Many of us are still quite deeply weary, some of us are a bit disorientated through the experiences of recent months. All of us, I suspect, are hungry for a fresh sense of God’s presence and his love. Some of us are seeking a sense of ‘what next?’ or ‘what now?’ This retreat offers the opportunity to come home, to come back to God who in Christ invites us to make our home in him. God, who has offered and continues to offer his life to us, invites us always to offer our lives back to him. As we do this, in this ‘yes’ to God, in his grace and mercy, we can experience his love as healing, as transforming, as reconciling. Knowing his love, we can make his love known.

The Rt Revd John Stroyan was ordained in 1983 and installed as Bishop of Warwick in 2005. He served in inner-city parishes in Coventry and Birmingham and then in a rural benefice in Oxfordshire. Bishop John, who is President of the Association for Promoting Retreats, is an experienced retreat leader and has a keen interest in the Eastern Spiritual Tradition. He has a particular interest in healing and reconciliation. His other interests include rural affairs and inter faith activities. He is the author of Turned by Divine Love: Starting Again with God and with Others.
