Gardening Retreat: May

Come and enjoy a week volunteering in our beautiful gardens and grounds, under the supervision of our head gardener Karen. Working as part of a team during the daytime on a range of tasks and projects in our Victorian walled garden, sunken garden or other features of the grounds, and relaxing in the evenings either as a group or if you prefer, taking your own space.

This retreat will be an opportunity to integrate spiritual reflection with being out and working in nature. Each day will include opportunities to share in the community’s chapel worship, and a brief afternoon reflection or reflective walk in the gardens. Launde Abbey takes pride in its hospitality and guests will enjoy our full board catering and a private, comfortable bedroom with ensuite facilities as part of your stay with us.

We have all of the tools and equipment you will need here at Launde Abbey, but please remember to bring your own wellies or suitable footwear and clothing. If you do prefer to bring your own garden tools this is fine, but we request that no power tools be brought or used during the Gardening Retreat.

Our gardening weeks are suitable for able-bodied individuals whether experienced gardeners or beginners. There will be a maximum of 6 hours working time per day and guests on this retreat will be expected to work these hours.

Please note that due to the popularity of these weeks, only one booking a year may be made at a time, and your name can be added to a waiting list should further places become available.

Retreat price: £520 (standard room) or £560 (character room)
EARLY BIRD RATE: £480 (standard room) or £520 (character room) if booked by 11th March 2024!
Price includes en-suite accommodation, all meals, and all retreat resources.
It may be possible for you to extend your stay with us by adding an extra night before or after this retreat. Please contact the Abbey directly if you would like to extend your stay.
