What would it mean to immerse ourselves in the life of God? During the Epiphany season we celebrate the baptism of Christ, when Jesus was soaked in the waters of the Jordan, the Father spoke from heaven, and the Spirit descended like a dove – a moment when the whole life of the Trinity was opened up.
In this quiet day we’ll explore our own invitation to immerse ourselves in the life of the Trinity, an invitation embodied in baptism and offered afresh every day. Through prayer, silence and reflection we’ll ponder the hospitality of God and our own response.
Chris Webb, Deputy Warden of Launde Abbey and Diocesan Spirituality Adviser, is an Anglican priest who has ministered as president of a spiritual formation ministry in the USA, as a parish priest in Wales and in a church for the homeless. He is the author of two books: The Fire of the Word (2011) and God-Soaked Life (2017).
